The State Council agreed in principle approved the Outline of Zhongguancun National Innovation Model Zone Development (2011-2020) recently.
According to the outline, by 2015, Zhongguancun zone will basically build an efficient innovation mechanism; by 2020, the zone will gain 10 trillion yuan of total revenue, establish several industrial clusters with technical ownership in software and information services, bio-medicine, new energy and other areas; cultivate a group of internationally famous brands and strong international competitiveness of multinational corporations, form a number of the world leading universities and research institutions, train and gather a group of outstanding industry leader in innovation and talent, become a global influence, innovation and technology center and high technology base.
